From August 22, 2011; All Africa Service Day

Tuesday Elder Moses received a phone call from the mission office for scheduling his plane flight home in December. He was excited from that point on and I thought of my own airport and how it would feel to walk through again.
Wednesday we taught a French speaker and met with our investigator named Gertrude who was Interviewed for baptism on Sunday for this upcoming Saturday. The day ended by us visiting several members where two of them sold roasted corn by the road. We had a lot of fun talking and making jokes while I sold the roasted corn for the member owner. When we had returned to the apartment I started to think about all of the friends that I have made here and how there will be a time where I will leave with the probability of never seeing them again. It was sort of a sad thought.
Thursday I interviewed some more people for a baptism on Saturday.
Friday Elder Moses and I were tight on money so we bought some ingredients to make some soup to eat throughout the week.
Saturday the entire church throughout Africa organized service projects in their various communities called All Africa Service Day. The Alajo ward decided that they would clean the gutters (open sewers) by removing the clogging trash and sand from the bottom. Now in my humble opinion as well as the comments from others- I worked hard that day, getting in the gutter and shoveling out the debris. The ward members that showed up then ended the work by eating and socializing. I must say that I had a lot of fun working hard and socializing with the members. Several members got together that evening to eat as well where we were invited and we also enjoyed our time there too.
Sunday I went with Elder Rich so he could do some interviews for baptism. It was good to talk to him about life. Elder Moses and I also had a good turn out at church from our investigators and had a few members bring several of their friends and family to church to receive our message. It was a good ending to a good week.
