Monday I hit 13 months and Elder Macaulay and I were told that we
would continue to be companions making at least 3 months.
Tuesday the only things that happened was us going out with a ward
missionary and while we didn't teach a lot of lessons with him it was
fun to talk to him. At district meeting we were told that the members
of the district would all stay put and two other sister would be
coming making a district of two elders and 6 sisters.
Well Wednesday was the most exciting day because we woke up to our
apartment flooded with several inches of water. We were told that the
previous night it rained serious for four hours resulting in the
apartment, at one point, having 8 inches. We could tell from the water
line. The things of mine that got wet were my suitcase and shoes that
were floating around the apartment. There were lots of missionary
supplies damaged by the water as well. Thankfully my scriptures,
camera, and journals are kept on a table so they were all safe. From
my suitcase I just had to wash my clothes that were inside and throw
out two blank journals and a drum that I had bought, but that the
water had cracked. Elder Macaulay wasn't as lucky having kept all of
his books and journals on the floor, but he let them dry in the sun
which was good. We woke up before 6:30 and by the time we had started
to clean at 7am we cleaned until the following 7pm when we then had to
see an investigator and then return home tired from cleaning.
All I can recall for Thursday was how Elder Macaulay's bike had some
issues so we were left to walk our area and when we were doing that a
plumber called us so he could fix our sink. It wasn't the most
productive missionary week, but oh well.
On Friday a member of 7 months named Justice went out the entire day
with us. The nice thing was that Justice had a bike so we could get a
lot of stuff done. While Elder Macaulay and I had made plans for who
to see we would also stop at places Justice knew so we could introduce
our message to them. What got us was that Justice would stop every few
minutes at most to introduce his friends to us. It was great.
Saturday The Bishop went out with us again and it has been nice to
have a routine of members that will come out with us during the day. I
had the chance of talking to the Bishop's driver who I have befriended
on the subject of religion (he is a Muslim). It was nice to talk about
it and how we could see similarities in the two. We also were able to
help a woman we are teaching named Anita with cleaning her gutter. It
was a good opportunity for her to develop her trust in us.
Sunday we had Shemcia come to church. This past week has been a good
one for spiritual growth and feeling the joy of the spirit in my life
more which is the goal for a lot of people in life; having true peace
and happiness.
