Well the season called the homatan really hit us recently. Basically this season is where there is a lot of dust in the air to the extent that it looks more like a fog from a distance and it blocks some of the sun's heat. As a result it becomes even more dusty to the point where one can taste the dirt.
On Tuesday we had a member's uncle come from the upper end of Ghana (12 hour trip). Apparently he had come in contact with the church from the member and would love to join, but because the church isn't there yet he has to make do with reading the books we gave him. He has a true desire to follow Christ which is great. He said that there are a lot of Muslims and followers of the traditional faith of Ghana (idol worshipers). When I was in Alajo there was a group of them and we always heard the worship in the local language with the drums, but I haven't seen it. I think it would be interesting to observe.
Wednesday I was thinking about how I have been taking the opportunity and gift to be here in Ghana for two years. Some of the people we know help me recognize it more which is good. I am living in Ghana for two years, sharing the truth, developing who I am as a person, and being able to see what the real Ghana is like as I live with the people in their environment. There are lots of white people who come here to visit and sight see, but with all of the touristy attractions they don't get the ability to see how life here really is and to learn the priceless lessons I am as a result of what I am doing.
Thursday we had the nativity play practice. I am going to be a wise man and because I am the only white person in the church branch here I will stick out in the play. I'm excited for how it will go in the 23rd.
Sunday we were able to get several people to come to church with some just walking in to the church and others being brought by member friends. it was also the day where the play practice when on and the choir that will be in the play came to rehearse with us. The choir is good. I didn't know how good until I saw a banner today advertising the same choir at the national theater of a Christmas performance.
