From September 28, 2011; Helping with Emergency Transfer to New Legon; Glee Talk

This email came two days after the expected day due to the link being down from a storm.  Mom was happy when it arrived :)

Tuesday I received a call from President Judd asking if I would be ok being sent on an emergency transfer on Friday. I was told I would be sent to a place called New Legon which is by a place called Adenta. The place is on the outskirts of the city so there is lots of trees and bushes making it more "African" looking.
Thursday I was preparing to leave Alajo. The highlights of the day were trying on a wig and eating several meals with some people we know. It was fun being with Elder Moses for 4.5 months. It was an odd feeling knowing that we will never see each other after I leave with him returning home in December and us living on two different sides of the world. For me being transferred is a fun experience, but the hard part is to leave the friends I have made over the time I had been in a certain area. I have been able to learn a lot from Elder Moses. What comes to mind is all of the cultural points I have picked up.  When there is a transfer or change here having a positive attitude is the most important thing so things click faster.
On Friday I was picked up around 2 and driven out to New Legon whick took an hour and a half or so. In the apartment it's myself and Elder Macauly, from Nigeria. Elder Macualy has been on his mission for 10 months and has only been in this area for 9 days so we are having fun exploring where we go. He is 20 years old and has been a member of the church for 12 years. The apartment itself is nice with all tiled flooring (not bare cement) and is spacious for the two of us.
On Sunday we went to church and then visited a member who works for a tv station in Ghana. She has been the 2nd person to listen to Glee that I have met here and it was a heart warming experience to talk about such a great show.
